A recent paper published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine has concluded that ‘Exercise therapy appears to be a safe way to improve functional capacity and reduce disability in individuals with chronic disease’. What  was particularly interesting to me was the huge array of conditions for which this appears to be the case, from haematological conditions to Parkinson’s disease. I guess that intuitively we all know that this makes sense, but in an age where we all tend to look for an easy answer in a pill, this is a great reminder of some common sense. It’s great to see some science that backs up this approach!
